CONCORD, N.C. — Sisters Brittany and Courtney Force topped qualifying Friday for the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMax Dragway.
Brittany Force broke the Top Fuel track time record with a 3.689-second pass at 318.39 mph.
« It felt good, especially compared to that first run we made earlier, » she said. « I just wanted a clean, safe pass and I wasn’t expecting to go No. 1. When they told me when I got out at the top end, that was pretty exciting. My team is pretty pumped. »
Courtney Force led the Funny Car field with a 3.873 at 332.92 in a Chevrolet Camaro SS.
The sisters’ father, 68-year-old John Force, was eighth at 3.938 and 328.06.
Drew Skillman led in Pro Stock, and Cory Reed topped the Pro Stock Motorcycle lineup. Skillman had a 6.534 at 210.37 in a Camaro, and Reed ran a 6.838 at 193.54 on a Victory.
